Rent- The Impossible Barrier

September 4th, 2008 at 09:18 pm

Just out of curiosity, I had a peek at rightmove.co.uk. I... shouldn't have.

Just to clarify, I live in an industrial English town, which means its busy, smelly and expensive.

I was expecting some quite expensive places to come up so I put in the cheapest options, and *click*

I know I'm only just above minimum wage, but y jaw was round by my feet. £350 (that's roughly $700) a month - for A SINGLE BEDROOM.

What is the minimum wage over there?

£5.52 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older, £4.60 per hour for workers aged 18-21 inclusive .

I think this works out in salary jobs about £10,000. Just double(ish) it to get dollars. Smile
