Oh man, I can't believe I haven't updated this blog in nearly that long!
Well, 2010 was a strange old year. Family members went and came, careers went nowhere. Relationships were non existent.
Money was saved at an unsustainable rate, and so money was splurged- several times, none of which I am particularly proud of.
I've been through about four computers this year too, thanks to sneaky eBay sellers and a run of bad luck.
I FINALLY passed my driving test!
Even though I now have to save for a car.
Even though this year I have fallen far off the bandwagon, in 2011 I intend to stick to a strict budget and keep visiting here and blogging to keep motivated!
Oho, I wonder what 2011 will bring?

Right- the first lot of eBay stuff has gone- hurray! Managed to sell it for £81.67 which was an alright price for what was going.

I put more on there yesterday- but I have a whole computer to put on, as well as LOADS more useless stuff. Curse my spendaholic nature

Aaaaand I had to buy some clothes for work; I can't keep wearing the same two t-shirts- it doesn't reflect well. Oh, and some new boots, as my shoes are leaking and its been WET here in jolly old England. Found some steel toed boots on ebay for £10 on ebay. :3 Chunky.

I've been slack in my finances this year. There really is no excuse.

So eBay have slashed their fees for auctions to 5p for a week. I've decided to shove as much stuff as I can on there all at once. Mwahaha.

Of course, I'm just wondering what's going to sell.. anybody want some Doctor Who novels?

Just out of curiosity, I had a peek at rightmove.co.uk. I... shouldn't have.

Just to clarify, I live in an industrial English town, which means its busy, smelly and expensive.

I was expecting some quite expensive places to come up so I put in the cheapest options, and *click*

I know I'm only just above minimum wage, but y jaw was round by my feet. £350 (that's roughly $700) a month - for A SINGLE BEDROOM.

Yep, £203.56 tax returned into my account. It's going straight into my savings account.

I'm up to £2,400 savings now then. Not bad.

So yes, I haven't posted in the last 8 months. In February I thought- better update my blog. In May I thought- reeeeally need to updat that blog. In August - I realised I spent most of my money on JUNK. Utter, useless JUNK.

*facepalm*

I know now that, like small children and furry animals, I need constant behavioural monitoring and adjustment if I'm going to actually save any money.

I will not spend, I will not spend..

Firstly, thanks to everyone who commented on my first post. Geez, eveyone around here's so friendly! And I am sorry I couldn't get round to answering sooner.

The thing is, illness caught me up. All week I've been coughing, sneezing and on Monday, I went completely deaf in my right ear.

Now, my family has a history of ear-related problems, and I'm terrified of going deaf, so I promptly signed out of work, went home and medicated myself up.

The thing is, the job I have now is only Temp work, so any ill days I don't get paid. I had to have two and a half days off, and although I know I really, really HAD to... it just feels like a complete waste.

Lame week. Next week will be better! *positive outlook*
