Happy Belated New Year!

January 4th, 2008 at 10:01 am

Just a quick post to say hi to everyone.

Hello, I'm Finch! I've decided to bite the bullet and start a blog, mostly to keep me on the straight and narrow with my finances.

I'm actually surprised that there are so few young people into personal finance, especially on the internet. Anyone else notice this?

Welcome! I think young people, for the most part, haven't learned their lessons yet when it comes to money. For a lot of us, it takes making some mistakes, acknowledging those and seeking knowledge to not make them again that brings us here and to other finance sites. Case in point, now and then at our store, a guest will use a gift card and when they find the remaining balance is less than $5 they tell us to just throw it away. Throw it away? Would you throw $4.97 on the ground? I wouldn't. But it's the same thing. Every time I've seen it, it's been someone under the age of 25 doing it. Things that make ya go hmmmm.....

Welcome! I'm 25 and agree that most people our age aren't that into personal finance. That doesn't mean that you can't be, people might just look at you funny. But you'll be laughing all the way to the bank! Smile

Heya Finch, welcome. There's quite a few people your age around on the SA forums and here in the blogs.
